Keywords: neutron activation analysis (NAA), definitive methods, ion exchange, analytical and radiochemical separations, certified reference materials (CRMs), inorganic trace analysis, ion chromatography(IC), quality assurance

Research profile:

Determination of trace elements in various matrices by NAA. Elaboration of definitive (very accurate ) methods for selected trace elements by radiochemical NAA to be used for control of accuracy of other instrumental methods of trace analysis and certification of reference materials. Determination of noble metals (trace amounts). Development of new selective separation and preconcentration methods for trace analysis with the use of radioactive tracers, with the special emphasis on ion exchange and extraction chromatography methods. Preparation and certification of reference materials, for inorganic trace analysis. Organization of interlaboratory comparisons and proficiency tests. Determination of anions and cations by ion chromatography.

Domains of applications:

Trace analysis of various types of materials (biological, geochemical, environmental etc.) including small, precious and unique samples ( e.g. meteorites, objects of art., etc.). Cerftification of reference materials. Devising of separation schemes for the preconcentration, isolation and determination of trace elements in various matrices. Devising of separation methods for micro-macro separations.
