Keywords:AAS, OES, XRF, industrial analysis,
precious metals, ores, environmental materials, certified reference materials,
organic pollutants, interlaboratory tests
Research profile:
- Development of instrumental analytical
methods (including the following techniques: atomic absorption spectrometry,
optical emission spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry) for analysis
of various industrial materials (including: non-ferrous metals ores and concentrates,
environmental materials, metallurgical products and wastes, alloys, precious
metals, etc.).
- Development of certified reference materials
(or reference materials) for high purity metals, alloys, precious metal alloys,
non-ferrous metal ores, environmental materials, metallurgical semi-products
and wastes, mainly in the form of series for OES and XRF (see Catalogue
on our web site).
- Development of analytical methods for
determination of various elements (important from environment point of view)
on trace and ultra-trace concentration level.
- Research on matrix effects and spectral
interferences in atomic spectroscopy methods for analysis of multicomponent
materials.
- Validation of analytical methods.
- Development of new methods and reference
materials for determination of organic pollutants.
- Transformation (photochemical degradation)
and behavior of organic pollutants in environmental materials.
Domains of applications:
- Analytical and quality control in non-ferrous
metals industry (implementation of the methods and certified reference materialsdeveloped
in such enterprises as: KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., Zinc Smelter "Miasteczko
Śl.", Polish State Mint).
- Elemental analyses of main components
and impurities of such materials as: metals, alloys, ores, concentrates,
dusts, slags, slimes, aerosols after filtration, etc.
- Organization of interlaboratory tests,
- Determination of organic pollutants in
water, soils and air.
