Keywords: AAS; ICP-OES; ICP-MS; Speciation; GC MIP-OES;
HPLC ICP-MS; Surface investigation; EPMA; m-XANES; Archeometry
Research profile:
Analytical chemistry; atomic spectrometry:
atom formation processes in graphite furnace as well as in plasma sources;
mechanism of matrix interferences; application of various instrumental techniques
to analysis of environmental samples, biological fluids, inorganic and organic
materials. Mechanism of action of modifiers in graphite furnace in respect
of atomic absorption signals detection. Coupling of hydride generation with
AAS, ICP-OES, MIP-OES or ICP-MS in flow and flow injection mode. Investigation
of speciation by GC MIP-OES, HPLC ICP-MS. The use of solid sorbents for the
preconcentration and speciation study. Surface and sub-surface examination
of graphite as well as ancient objects with the use of EPMA, m-XANES and Moessbauer. Trace analysis with ICP-MS. Metrology
in chemistry, reference materials, interlaboratory comparisons, and uncertainty
budget.
Domains of applications:
Clinical samples (speciation of trace elements
in blood and urine); food (speciation and metabolism of elements in plants);
environment (trace elements in water, soil and air); archeometry (physico-chemical
investigation of the processes occurring in ancient objects and development
of respective conservation procedures); petroleum products (monitoring of
industrial processes in respect of the poisoning of the catalysts).
